Library updates

Our libraries are open with heightened hygiene and social distancing measures in place to ensure everyone can safely enjoy all that our libraries have to offer.

Our opening times are: Monday to Friday, 10am to 6pm. Note: Mayfair Library is open Monday to Friday, 11am to 6pm. Details of our weekend opening hours can be found here.

Note: Paddington Children’s Library is still closed. Children’s books can be returned to the adult library on Porchester Road and we have a small selection of children’s books and DVDs available for loan at this site. Also due to essential building maintenance, Victoria Library is only open for computer access and enquiries.

Westminster City Archives has also reopened; their opening times are Tuesday to Thursday, 10am to 6pm and Friday and Saturday, 10am to 5pm.

Our library members can now reserve books and other items from our libraries via our online reservation system. Reservations can be placed online via our library catalogue or in person at our libraries.

Face coverings

Following the government’s recent decision, all library visitors are required to wear a face covering on entering our libraries and our Archives Centre.
All visitors, apart from children under 11 and those who have reasonable cause should wear a face mask, scarf or other covering. Not all exemptions are visible, so please be understanding of other library visitors.

More details on our reopening are available on our website.
