This book list was compiled to celebrate the 90th birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2016. 

Queen for 64 years, Elizabeth II is the longest-reigning monarch in British history. While Britain has seen many changes, social and political during this period, the monarchy appears to be as popular as ever with the bulk of the British public, as was evident at the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of 2012. The younger royals now undertake most of the more arduous touring duties, but it is the Queen, with her lifelong devotion to her role, who has remained the bedrock of the monarchy’s continued popularity.
