Many of the newspapers and magazines listed below are available in hard copy in Westminster libraries. Before you make a special journey, please check which library has the newspaper or magazine you need to look at. You can check WULOP, our online newspaper and magazine catalogue or contact your local library.
- National newspapers with job advertisements: The Telegraph, The Guardian, The Independent, The Times.
- The Guardian newspaper focuses on different fields of work each day of the week:
Monday - media including creative, new media, marketing, PR and secretarial courses
Tuesday - education including Higher Education support, schools management and community education
Wednesday - society including health, social care, public policy, finance, legal, planning, housing, environment, mental health, youth work and children's services
Thursday - technology including IT, science and technology

Universal Jobmatch - government programme for jobseekers of all ages from Jobcentre Plus. This site allows you to search for a job, find help and advice and get information on benefits

Local government jobs - for jobs in local councils across the country (part of the Jobs Go Public service)

Cardinal Hume Centre Jobs - Staff and volunteers are on hand to provide one-to-one support and guidance on developing CVs and applying for jobs.

National Careers Service - A one-stop shop for jobseekers offering guidance on lifelong learning, a skills health-check, a CV builder, a careers database with detailed job profiles, and lots of help with job-search tools and strategies.

London Apprenticeships - Managed by a company specialising in apprenticeship provision this site advertises such roles throughout the city helping you to get your first foot on the ladder in the industry you desire. There is also a section for employers for example explaining which grants are available.

It also allows those who would like to offer opportunities to people to post these on their site via their local volunteer centre. As well as this database it provides useful information about volunteering.
