  • FreeBMD - ​FreeBMD is an ongoing project to provide free online transcriptions of the General Register Offices indexes of births, marriages and deaths. The database is not complete, but provides fairly comprehensive records from 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century.​

  • Family Search - Search for your ancestors on the enormous family history database compiled by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

  • National Archives - Formerly the Public Record Office, the official archive of the UK now provides searchable access to its own and other archives' collections and catalogues nationwide.

  • Family records:
    - The Family Record Centre has closed but you can search the indexes of Births, Deaths and Marriages on microfiche at the City of Westminster Archives Centre and in Westminster libraries using Ancestry.
    - Westminster Register Office - You can get certificates issued in Westminster from Westminster Register Office 
    General Register Office - You can order birth marriage and death certificates for England and Wales from this site. For other regions see Scotland’s People, Public Record Office of Northern Ireland and The National Archives of Ireland.
